Half way there!

I’m a little more than half way through my experience here in Thailand – it’s flying by! Today we had a meeting with our key stakeholders at the Thammasat University Social Innovation Square. We’ve been prepping for the meeting since I arrived here, so it was really interesting to be able to attend and be part of the day. Even though the meeting was conducted in Thai, I enjoyed the one-on-one interactions I had with some of the attendees and the feedback from my colleagues was very encouraging.

This weekend I’m headed out on an adventure into the countryside up north in Thailand.  A social entrepreneur, Pai, started an eco-tourism business and I’m one of his first customers. His company is called Local Alike and they help send tourists into authentic Thai villages for a truly cultural experience that also has positive and lasting effects on the community.  Tomorrow I fly to Lampang and then catch a two-hour bus ride to Chang Mai where I’ll be picked up and taken out to the village for the weekend. I can’t wait to see what the experience has in store – bug repellent and sunscreen packed! See you next week.
